Plenty of NEW LOCAL RELEASES this week… even a new local brand, named after the latitudinal line that runs through Brisbane … 27 SOUTH BREWING is now available at CRAFT.  Don’t miss their “Day Trip” American Wheat, a very promising taste of what is to come from these ‘gypsy’ brewers and relative newcomers to the Brisbane craft beer scene.

And that’s just one of the FRESH, LOCAL, NEW RELEASE brews to be found in our fridges this weekend. NEWSTEAD BREWING have all the bases covered with three new releases… ‘LUNA’ Witbier… ‘WAXING LYRICAL’ DDH Hazy Pale and finally, a big boozy 100% wheat-malt barrel-aged beast of a brew named ‘A LONG STORY SHORT’.

SLIPSTREAM BREWING have released the next in their Fruit Cart sour series, loaded with the juice of 380 kilos of blood plums. Canned and delivered same day to our stores yesterday… Craft customers can get a first taste of FRUIT CART PLUM SOUR before it hits other stores next week.

MODUS Hazy release #6 ‘Apricot Coconut Milkshake Sabro’ is a liquid homage to the childhood Apricot Coconut treats your Nanna made.  FLASH BANG’ White IPA from BLACK HOPS returns… and AKASHA has released a new Double Hazy Mosaic

BEER GEEKS REJOICE… MIKKELLER AND ROCKY RIDGE HAVE LANDED!!“HALLO” WEEKEND! AND OKTOBERFEST IS IN OUR BEER-LOVING HEARTS… PROST!

The arrival of world-renowned Copenhagen-based brews by MIKKELLER always cause a state of high excitement at Craft, but we are equally in love with the homegrown WA beers by ROCKY RIDGE… and their story truly gets to the heart of what we are all about at Craft.

ROCKY RIDGE BREWING CO is based in Jindong WA on a 5th generation family-owned farm that has produced many different forms of agriculture. In more recent years, dairy and beef… but even more recently… hops, glorious hops! They are taking beer back to its roots… locally grown, locally produced, for locals (and luckily for us… a couple of borders hop, skip and jump in to sunny Queensland)! They are fully-independent, 100% family owned and operated and grow everything on site, in a sustainable and ecologically responsible manner. But really, they had us at “BEER…. grown and brewed on a 5th generation family farm” …!

The spirit and tradition of ‘drink fresh, drink local’ dates back hundreds and hundreds of years in the rich and diverse history of beer. The world’s largest annual beer festival, OKTOBERFEST (sadly, cancelled this year) would have kicked off this weekend in Munich. The festival originated in 1810 and in a long Bavarian tradition, only beer conforming to the “Reinheitsgebot” (purity order) and brewed within the city limits of Munich, may be served at Oktoberfest.

More on Oktoberfest next week, and watch this space as we roll out some ‘Festbier’ inspired brews over the coming weeks. But in store now, you’ll get your hands on a range of brews from the world’s oldest working brewery WEIHENSTEPHAN, including their annual ‘Festbier’ release… PLUS… in store for the weekend, two special SEALEGS releases… a MARZEN and SMOKED HELLES LAGER. Fresh and locally-brewed German-style beers to get you in an Oktoberfest kind of mood.
